Marriage Visa
Those who are married to an Ecuadorian Citizen or have children born in Ecuador qualify for the Marriage Visa or Amparo Visa.
The Marriage Visa is the only Visa that is immediately Permanent after being secured, without first requiring a Temporary Visa.
If you were married overseas, we must register your marriage in Ecuador with the Civil Registry before applying for a Marriage Visa.
How Much Does an Ecuadorian Marriage Visa Cost?
Gringo Visas charges an all-inclusive fee of $1,500. Adding one dependent costs $1,400. Adding a child under 18 years old costs $600.

Permanent Visa
After receiving Marriage Visa no further Visa applications or Visa renewals are needed (*travel restrictions must be followed)
Able to legally work in Ecuador, if desired
Apply for an Ecuadorian cedula (Ecuadorian ID)
Sign up for government insurance (IESS)
Open checking and saving accounts with banks and cooperatives
After 65 years old, you qualify for discounts on many services, including tax refunds (IVA)
Add parents as dependants
Children of an Ecuadorian citizen qualify for citizenship. Applies to minors and adult children.
Qualify for a permanent Visa if you have not left Ecuador for more than 90 days in total during the 21 months
Ship household possessions and one vehicle duty-free to Ecuador

Passport valid for a minimum of twelve months
Foreign marriage license
Register marriage through the Ecuadorian Civil Registry
Bank statements showing minimum monthly income for past three months
$475 in earnings from applicant or sponsor (citizen)
FBI background check
State police report
